| Gary Heckelman was a puppeteer and mask maker in the 1970's when he then started sculping organic forms in clay. Following a 11year hiatus, his new work utilizes a clay monoprint process. Instead of using inks or paints Gary's colors are derived from pigmented clay slip. A longstanding artist of ceramic sculpture, Gary has “slipped” from sculpture into clay monoprinting, his wet clay now used in a new medium which allows layers of brilliant color and light.
